The ability to hold flies 'up in the water' for a longer period of time has given us the ability to show the fish our flies for extended periods. Our favourite nymph patterns can be used as droppers and a choice of dry fly, FAB or booby pattern as a point fly will stop the flies sinking too deep early on in the retrieve.
